Woke up this morning as usual at 0630 hrs. Preparing breakfast for my hubby and followed by preparing his take away lunch box to school. Then internet surfing, clearing the yard, taking my breakfast and then lunch, watching tv, internet surfing again, and finally preparing to cook for dinner. Hmmm… sounding like a full-time homemaker already! Actually I am only half-way there… hehehehee. I recalled that when I was at work last year 2006… I used to tell everyone that asked or even questioned about my highest calling… I galdly told all of them that I wanted to be a full-time tai tai! But Now… i decided that full-time tai tai was not my piece of cake. I was so bored here and with so much of free time… at hand somethimes i feel that i wasting my time here. I could use these time to do so much back at work, and able to earn a living on my own. I missed so much of my working days with my friends… and missing home too… sigh…

But I am starting to enjoy my life here… cooking for almost a month, and everyday! I started baked chicken and fish in the oven which i never tried before back in Singapore. Did my first singapore chicken curry successfully! Now i am exporing on baking cakes! Heeeheehe that will surprise my mummy!  Doing some intensive internet surfing, looking for cheap deals, coupons and freebies and etc… something that Singapore departmental stores will never offer. Watching tv minus all chinese series and korean series you have violent shows and bad news… sigh how can i not turn violent in long term? So I will enjoy it while I am still here in monterey, USA.

Sleeping on the sofa bed for close to 14 days.

Siting on carpet flooring for 17 days.

Watching TV without the console for 17 days.

Having breakfast/lunch/dinner without a proper dinning table for 14 days.

Finally a home was empty with no furnishing…. now fully furnished… YES!!!

Just came back from L.A DisneyLand and California AdvantureLand. It was my hubby and my first DisneyLand visit to the Walt Disney Magical Land of Where Dreams come True….

We travelled more than 6 hours by car and travelled more than 350 miles, it was solely driven by my hubby… non-stop from Monterey to Los Angeles Anaheim where Disneyland is. When we finally reached near Anaheim… we were caught in traffic massive jams… for almost an hour! But we got thru!

At last… much long waited internet connection is here to stay. Was so excited that the internet equipments reached our doorstep this evening at 7pm. Connected all the possible technology equipments that my hubby could grap hold off inorder for us to be connected to Singapore.

Called my mummy and zacky boi… heard him barking… sighhhHhh… so nice to hear him barking out loud, miss him so much.

Called annette su… but engaged… must be busy dating.

Called cassandra fong… but she is manila… had to chat with her over msn.

Called joey loo at NUH… but she is working.

But was happy to be connected with everyone else in Singapore. This feeling made me feel comfortable and connected again. Thanks to technology!

still waiting for the internet connection… final confirmation with the personels here that we will get our internet connection but will only be done by 11-01-2007. meanwhile i will persist on… coming into the library and log in to the techonolgy world… persist…

bored…

at last today i get to access to the internet connection via my hubby’s military school connection by staying in the library.

ever since my hubby and i moved out of the military quarters, we had difficulty getting our internet connection up. not because that we did not have the means to have it but because of the workflow and S.O.P of the internet connection ruling thingy… that delayed the availability.

my days here in monterey has mounted up todate as at today a total of 16 days. and these days i had to travel everyday and everywhere by car. nothing is "walkable" and the distance is calculated in miles and not kilometer. the nearest shopping area is >20miles = 32kilometer, and its healthcare system… its so different from singapore… its not accessible to the people unless they have cars and insurance of coz… its so scary to travel anywhere by my self… unless with my hubby’s company… the public relations "PR" service here in Monterey is top i have to say. they can serve you up to 2 hours face to face or even on the phone + answering all your enquires + tolerating your english language + working 1 hour pass office hours = stilling smiling and with very good attutide, that’s something that i dont see in Singapore.

as my days passed and missing the things back home, my home, my family, friends, my zacky boi… my reflections here in monterey hopefully had made me a better person and a more appreciative person towards my country SINGAPORE. as distance are calculated in kilometers, shopping area is within 5kilometers. everything is "walkable" to market, postal-office, library, hospital etc… everything … its so convience back in singapore (maybe small country), everything its within reach and accessible to the people. and we dont have internet connection problems, everything is within reach with a dial on the phone and you will have your connection within days not weeks!

however, i have to aggree… place in here in USA is huge. serivces here gave the best service… however that cost time. things here are not neccessary cheap but if good deals comes along… then its dirt cheap! hahaha… then i will shop till i drop…
